The good prospects of Ukraine for the export of pre-packed honey to Europe.
From the 1st January of 2007 a new GOST (quality standard for the domestic market) for a natural bee honey should come into force.
This quality standard applied to the natural bee honey packed in glass jars, plastic jars, sachets, tins and metal drums for food stuffs and other kind of package and put up for sales in the domestic market of the Ukraine, particularly in supermarkets and food stores.
GOST is the normative document worked out by the Institute of Apiculture, The Institute of Animal breeding and approved by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health,
The research-and-development center of standardization and certification in Ukraine.
The honey pre-packed for the ukrainian market should pass through the „european control” and for the first time this procedure will be obligatory in Ukraine.
